About the Council
The Utah Developmental Disabilities Council is established by by Executive Order of the Governor of the State of Utah in compliance with the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act of 2000 (Public Law 106-402.)

The purpose of the Council is to advocate for, and strengthen leadership skills in, individuals with disabilities and their families. In addition, the Council collaborates with the legislature, public and private agencies that serve individuals with disabilities to strengthen the service system. The focus of all the activities of the Council are to promote consumer and family directed services that increase self-determination in individuals with disabilities and their families.
